Community News Update - October 31, 2022
Dear Community,
Happy Halloween! It sure is feeling spooky at Queen's Park with Minister Lecce and Premier Ford tabling ghoulish back-to-work legislation. This legislation is a shameful attack on our underpaid education workers earning an average of $39k and an affront to the process of collective bargaining. Ontario's children will suffer because of Mr. Ford and Mr. Lecce's refusal to defend public education and workers' rights.
Do you have a story about the impact of education workers you'd like to share? A message of solidarity with workers or frustration with PC government inaction? Please email my office at [email protected] (or reply to this email) and tell me why you stand with education workers in their fight for fair pay!
I stand with all education workers across Ontario, and I will do my best to ensure Premier Ford and Minister Lecce hear our voices!
Speaking of this spooky season - a reminder that tonight is the deadline for our Halloween Costume Contest! If you’d like to participate, send your costume to [email protected] or tag my social media accounts! All community members, including our furry friends, are encouraged to submit!

If you put your pumpkin carving artistry on display this year, there's still time to show it off! As mentioned last week, the Upper Village Pumpkin Parade will be hosted at Ben Nobleman Park on Tuesday, November 1st from 4 to 8 PM with all kinds of fun and games for the whole family!
Flu season is once again upon us! Beginning November 1st, flu shots will be available for everyone 6 months and older. Appointments can be made through Toronto Public Health, your health care providers, and in participating pharmacies. More information can be found at toronto.ca/flu.
The Queen's Park public gallery is back open! If you or a community group you work with would like to come listen to your MPP advocate for affordable housing, safer schools, and public health care, please reach out to my office at [email protected] to set up a visit!
