The Ford government cancelled rent control on units built after 2018, and we're seeing a flurry of demovictions and renovictions across our city. The cost to rent a home in Toronto has never been higher, and folks are being priced out of their communities by greedy developers looking to make an easy buck.
Doug Ford needs to put the people of Ontario FIRST by 1) reinstating rent control for all units, 2) scrapping vacancy decontrol, and 3) ensuring all new units are built in the best interests of everyday Ontarians, NOT developers.
