NDP Local: Join Andrea’s #FoodBankChallenge
“First we eat, then we do everything else.”
Imagine the day when everybody has enough to eat and we no longer need food banks.
We dream of that day. We’re working towards that day.
But until then, we do need food banks. During the pandemic, more than ever.
Which is why we’re so proud to accept Andrea’s #FoodBankChallenge.
RIGHT NOW, make a credit card donation to one of your local donations. Or if you’re about to make one of your bi-weekly grocery store trips, it can be adding extra items to your list and then planning to drop them off.
Ther are a couple food banks hard at work here in Toronto-St. Paul’s:
- The Churches on the Hill food bank at 230 St. Clair W is hard at work collecting and distributing food. You can donate money through their website, or call 416-967-3842 to arrange a drop-off.
- The Stop’s Community Food Centre supports the Wychwood Open Door community and its Food Bank coverage area includes the part of the riding west of Bathurst.
There’s also the the North York Harvest Food Bank, Daily Bread Toronto, and Feed Ontario.
Once you’ve made your donation, challenge five of your friends on social media to do the same. Tag them in a post or tweet, include a link to the food bank, and please use the tag #FoodBankChallenge.
Don’t use social media? You can still take part – just forward this email to five of your friends and encourage them to take part.
Together, we’ll get through the pandemic. Afterwards, we’ll keep working towards the day when food banks are a thing of the past.
Thank you!
