What an incredible weekend full of delicious eats and our wonderful St. Paul's community!
Thank you to every single person who made Salsa On St. Clair possible! The hardworking event staff, dozens of local businesses and their workers, the many volunteers and performers, the fabulous Hillcrest Village BIA, and each and every person who traveled near or far to visit our vibrant community - I can't thank you enough!
It was so wonderful to meet so many new folks and reconnect with many old friends and allies. Whether you signed a petition, stopped by our booth and stocked up on swag, danced with me in the street, or simply gave a wave, it meant so much to be in community! We have to take these joys where we can get 'em!
And boy was our street full of joy! If you build it, they will come!
This week is Non-Binary Awareness Week! This is a time to educate and engage individuals, communities, and institutions in meaningful conversations about gender diversity beyond the binary.
This is also a time to CELEBRATE our non-binary friends, family, and community members and work together to build a world that embraces the diversity of gender expressions.
If you have donations to spare, please consider bringing them down to Marian Engel Park on Saturday between 11AM - 1PM! If you need some extra groceries, come on down no questions asked (we have tote bags)!
Each year across Ontario, thousands of lives are lost to overdoses. We need every level of government to prioritize implementing harm reduction strategies to combat these senseless deaths, and you can help.
As many of you know, Naloxone is a medication that reverses the effects of an opioid overdose, and these kits are FREE with training at participating pharmacies across the city. Together, we can prevent unnecessary deaths and work toward a more compassionate society that is safe safe for everyone.
Find a pharmacy with Naloxone kits near you, and make sure you can recognize the signs of an overdose.
